What Is Focal Shockwave Therapy?

Focal shockwave therapy uses precisely targeted acoustic energy waves to stimulate the body's own biological repair mechanisms at the site of dysfunction. ED affects approximately 40% of men at age 40, rising to 70% by age 70 (Massachusetts Male Aging Study). A 2021 systematic review of 14 RCTs and 833 patients demonstrated 60–75% of patients reporting meaningful clinical improvement. Low-intensity shockwave is the only non-surgical treatment addressing the underlying vascular pathology.

Peyronie's disease involves fibrous plaques within the tunica albuginea causing penile curvature, pain and sexual dysfunction. Focal shockwave addresses the condition through calcification dissolution — mechanically disrupting plaques and stimulating tissue remodelling. Drug-free and non-surgical.

Frozen shoulder causes progressive loss of range of motion and pain. Focal shockwave reduces capsular fibrosis through inflammation modulation, stimulates neovascularisation and supports tissue remodelling — restoring movement without surgery or steroid injections.
